Sarah Reviews Your Project
Every application is personally reviewed by Sarah. If it’s a strong fit, she’ll respond within 48 hours with a tailored proposal covering the recommended engagement, timeline and investment for your home.
Payment and Design Questionnaire
Once you’re ready to proceed, payment confirms your place. You’ll receive a detailed Design Questionnaire with instructions for uploading photographs and inspiration. This becomes the brief Sarah works from. The more care you put into completing it, the more specific and useful the final report will be.
Sarah Creates Your Design Direction
Working from your completed questionnaire, photographs and inspiration, Sarah develops a fully tailored design direction that is personal to your home, your lifestyle and your brief. Every recommendation is developed specifically for your home.
Your Private Design Reveal
Once your Alira Design Presentation is complete, we meet for your Private Design Reveal. In a dedicated private session, Sarah personally walks you through every recommendation, explains the thinking behind each decision and answers your questions before you begin bringing your home to life.
Your report is then delivered as the lasting reference for every decision ahead.
Delivered within two to three weeks of receiving your completed questionnaireWorking with Alira is an investment in clarity and a home that feels completely right. For most clients, the value comes not simply from the design direction itself, but from the certainty it provides. Knowing exactly what your home needs. Knowing exactly what to buy. Knowing how to make every decision that follows with complete assurance and no expensive detours.
Most clients invest between $795 and $2,500 depending on the size and scope of their project.
Projects are individually scoped. Single room engagements begin from $795. Larger projects, briefs spanning several rooms and whole home commissions are scoped individually and quoted personally following your application.
There are no fixed packages and no online purchases. Following your application, Sarah will recommend the right engagement and provide a tailored proposal with full details.

The service is designed for homeowners who believe that where they live should genuinely reflect who they are, and who are ready to make that happen. It suits people who appreciate great design, have a sense of what they want but need help bringing it together, and are ready to invest in a space that feels completely right.
The service applies to any residential space. A single room, multiple rooms, whole home styling, renovation planning, finishes selection for a new build or the refinement of a space that is close but not quite right. If you’re unsure whether your project is suitable, simply describe it in your application and Sarah will advise from there.
You don’t need to decide. That is Sarah’s role. After reviewing your application, she will recommend the most suitable engagement for your home and your goals, and provide a tailored proposal with full details. There are no packages to navigate and no decisions to make before you apply.
This is far more common than most people realise, and it is not a problem at all. The process is designed to help uncover what you’re genuinely drawn to, even when you’ve never been able to articulate it clearly. Sarah works with your inspiration images, your existing pieces and your instincts to develop a direction that feels like you, often more clearly than you expected.
Yes. The design direction is built around what you have and what you’d like to keep. You’ll have the opportunity to tell Sarah exactly what is staying, what can be replaced and what you’d like to change, and the recommendations will reflect that entirely.
Yes. You’ll share a rough implementation budget during the process, and all product and sourcing recommendations will be calibrated to that figure. The goal is a design direction you can realistically bring to life, one that feels worthwhile and achievable at whatever investment makes sense for your home.
Yes. Through Alira’s established trade supplier relationships and exclusive accounts, many of the products and materials recommended in your report are available at pricing not accessible through standard retail channels. Where trade pricing applies, Sarah will note this alongside the relevant recommendations.
Every application is personally reviewed by Sarah. If your project is a strong fit, she’ll respond within 48 hours with a tailored proposal covering the recommended engagement, timeline and investment details. If the project isn’t the right fit at this time, she’ll let you know warmly and directly.
Your completed design direction will be presented and delivered within two to three weeks of receiving your completed Design Questionnaire. Sarah works to this timeline deliberately. It allows for the depth of thought your home deserves. Most clients find the time passes quickly once they’ve submitted their brief and know the work is underway.
Once your Alira Design Presentation is complete, Sarah invites you to your Private Design Reveal, a personal session where she walks you through the complete design direction. You'll hear the thinking behind every recommendation, see the concept come together as a whole and have the opportunity to explore any aspect in more depth. The presentation is not simply delivered to you. Sarah personally guides you through it. One round of refinement is incorporated before your final report is delivered.
A traditional interior designer is typically engaged across the full duration of a project, including site visits, procurement, contractor management and ongoing decision making. The Alira Design Service provides the strategic design direction that makes all of those decisions clearer and more assured, at a fraction of the time commitment on either side. Many clients use their design report as the brief they bring to a local designer, builder or stylist, giving every subsequent conversation a clear and purposeful foundation to work from.
